The Logitech MX Keys S can connect to a computer, tablet, or phone in several ways. You can pair it over Bluetooth, use a compatible USB receiver, or connect it with a USB-C cable while charging. Choose a connection method
- Bluetooth: Best for laptops, tablets, phones, and computers without a spare USB port.
- USB receiver: Useful when you want a dedicated wireless connection or Bluetooth is unreliable in your environment.
- USB-C cable: Charges the keyboard and may let you continue typing while it is connected.
Connect the MX Keys S over Bluetooth
- Turn on the keyboard using the power switch on its underside.
- Press and hold one of the Easy-Switch keys labelled 1, 2, or 3 for a few seconds.
- Wait for the indicator above the selected key to flash. This shows that the keyboard is ready to pair.
- Open Bluetooth settings on your computer or mobile device and scan for available devices.
- Select MX Keys S, or the similar keyboard name shown in the device list.
- Follow any on-screen instructions, such as confirming a pairing code.
Once pairing is complete, the keyboard should reconnect to that device when it is switched on and within range. To connect another device, repeat the process using Easy-Switch key 2 or 3. Press the relevant Easy-Switch key whenever you want to change between saved devices.
Set it up on different devices
Windows
Open Settings, choose Bluetooth & devices, and select Add device. Choose Bluetooth, then select the MX Keys S when it appears. If you are using a USB receiver, connect it and allow Windows to detect the keyboard.
macOS
Open System Settings or System Preferences, depending on your version of macOS, and go to Bluetooth. Put the keyboard into pairing mode with an Easy-Switch key, then select it from the list of available devices.
iPadOS and Android
On an iPad, open Settings, turn on Bluetooth, and tap the MX Keys S when it appears. On Android, open Bluetooth under Settings > Connected devices, then select the keyboard. If the characters you type do not match the printed keys, check the keyboard layout selected in the device settings.
Use a USB receiver
If your keyboard package includes a compatible Logitech USB receiver, plug it into an available USB-A port or a powered USB hub. Turn on the keyboard and allow the computer to detect the wireless connection. Depending on the hardware supplied with your keyboard, the receiver may be a Logi Bolt or Unifying model. If the keyboard does not connect automatically, try another USB port. Troubleshoot connection problems
- The keyboard is missing from the Bluetooth list: Confirm that it is switched on and that an Easy-Switch key is flashing in pairing mode.
- Pairing fails: Move the keyboard closer to the computer or mobile device, then turn Bluetooth off and on again.
- An old connection is interfering: Remove the MX Keys S from the host device’s saved Bluetooth devices and repeat the pairing process.
- The receiver is not working: Try a different USB port and disconnect unnecessary hubs or extensions temporarily.
- The keyboard is unresponsive: Charge it with the USB-C cable and check that the power switch is on.
- Problems continue: Check Logitech Options Plus or the appropriate receiver software for available firmware updates.
